Atlanta is well known for its shopping malls and outlet centers.
No matter where you live in Atlanta there is always a shopping mall
or outlet center close by. Atlanta has some of the largest shopping
malls in the southeast and has some of the most unique shops anywhere
in the country offering something new for anyone. You're sure to
have a ball on your shopping spree in this "shopper's paradise"
known for its diverse selection and quality.
Almost all of the shops are open seven days a week from 10 am to
9 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm to 9 pm. If you fancy shopping in
downtown Atlanta be advised that many stores are closed on Sundays.
For your information be aware that the sales tax is 7% in the city
of Atlanta and Fulton County and 6%-7% in the suburbs.
Among the best known and most popular shopping centers in Atlanta
are Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square. These shopping centers contain
many hundreds of designer fashion houses among which are Neiman
Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Rich's, Macy's, Saks and Parisian. If you
fancy dining in these shopping centers you will find a vast range
of restaurants.
